Shelter Animals Make Great Pets

Many animals end up in our shelter because of circumstances beyond their control. They were the helpless victims of a family death, illness, divorce or a move. Some may have had pet parents who didn’t learn how to train them. Through no fault of their own, the SGVHS became their temporary home. We provide them with shelter, health care, love and compassion until they find their forever home.

We would love to hear your SGVHS adoption stories for use in our social media pages! Send them to publicity@sgvhumane.org

Testimonials

We adopted our dog, Poppy, in April and she is doing wonderfully. At first,  I think she really missed the shelter and the wonderful people who took care of  her.  Now  that we've had her for a month, her personality has blossomed. She loves belly  rubs, giving us kisses, and laying in bed with her human siblings. She looks forward to our daily walks around the park and as soon as we get her leash out her tail starts  wagging and she gets the zoomies. We love our sweet girl and are so happy to  have her in our family!! Thank you SGV Humane Society! ❤️--Desiree

I didn't hesitate to go to the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society to adopt a cat. I found Callie, and she is just a sweet, lovable goofball. I'm so glad to have added her to the family. --Betsy
